Flagg Road and 20th Street Intersection Work Hits Delay
ROCHELLE - The Rochelle City Council on Monday learned that the ongoing project to reconfigure the Flagg Road and 20th Street Intersection will be delayed. The project will require relocation of a number of utility services. Willet Hoffman and Associates provided Engineering services and created relocation plans for RMU overhead electric lines and fiber internet services. City Engineer Sam Tesreu reports that the lowest bid, submitted by Helm Electric Facility Solutions Inc. for around $267,000, was withdrawn by the company. The next lowest bid was over 40% higher than Willet Hoffman’s estimate of the project cost. Due to the cost differences, they chose to reject all proposals and rebid the work at a future date.
