Man wounded in barrage of gunfire while pumping gas at Brighton Chevron
A man was shot while he was pumping gas Thursday night at a Brighton service station. The shooting happened at 11:55 p.m. at the Brighton Chevron on Jaybird Road. Lt. Kenneth Hooten said the 20-year-old man had exited his vehicle and was putting gas in his car at pump #2 when a black or dark Chevrolet Traverse pulled up and opened fire.

The county is building two new community centers at Thankful Park and in the White Plains/Choccolocco area, says Mark Tyner, Calhoun County manager.
