Princeton Council okays city water rate increase
The Princeton City Council authorized a rate increase for city water Monday night. The rate increase is scheduled to take effect with the August billing. According to City Manager Teresa Wittenauer, the average increase per household will be about $3. She cited increased costs, particularly with chemicals used in treatment and mandated EPA testing.
Leeward Renewable Energy Brings Clean Energy Jobs To Illinois
Leeward Renewable Energy’s GSG Wind Project built 26 new turbines and recycled 100% of decommissioned wind turbines, adding numerous clean energy jobs in Illinois. The GSG Wind project, which stretches across 3,000 acres near West Brooklyn, Illinois, became commercially operational in 2007. Illinois Representative Darin LaHood recently visited the site to meet with local farmers and discuss the economic benefits of clean wind power.

City prepares for street work
MENDOTA - The Mendota City Council took steps toward the summer street maintenance program and sidewalk work at its July 15 regular meeting. During Alderman Jim Fitzpatrick’s report, the council approved an engineering agreement with Chamlin & Associates for the 2024 Motor Fuel Tax/Rebuild Illinois street program.
