Hog Day Banners for 2024 Available for Purchase This Week at B&B Printing
Starting this week, B & B Printing is selling the 2024 Hog Days Banner for $30 to benefit the Kewanee Historical Society. The banners will be available soon at the Kewanee Historical Society, the Kewanee Chamber of Commerce, and the Hog Capital store. Crews respond to motorcycle crash near Rapids City Saturday
RAPIDS CITY, Ill. (KWQC) - Crews were on the scene of an apparent motorcycle crash near the I-80 exit on Illinois Route 84 near Rapids City around noon on Saturday. A Rock Island County official told TV6 the rider was not seriously injured and was seen walking around at the scene of the crash.
Freeport police investigate shots fired report leaving 1 hurt
FREEPORT, Ill. (WIFR) - A teenager on Freeport’s east side is hurt from a shots fired report early Saturday morning. Just after midnight on July 20, Freeport officers were alerted to a shots fired report in the area of Frank Street and Chicago Avenue. The police were also notified about a 17-year-old male victim who was transported to FHN Hospital with a gunshot wound. The victim was treated and later discharged.

Rockford-area SNAP recipients may qualify for food replacement
ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) - Help may be available for some people in the stateline who had to throw out food due to widespread power outages following severe storms. The Winnebago County Emergency Management Agency says Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program or SNAP recipients who experienced power outages lasting longer than four hours can request food replacements within 10 days of the event. According to the Illinois Department of Human Services, food bought with SNAP benefits may also be replaced if it was destroyed in a fire, flood, tornado or other devastating event.
