WINDOM, Minn. (KEYC) -Residents affected by flooding are now left to pick up the pieces. ”I think there’s hope but also people are kind of hopeless. Insurance isn’t covering a lot so it’s devastating to some of these people who have to figure out how to replace everything,” said Windom resident and volunteer organizer Hilary Mathis.
Letter: Lots of questions about River Street
River Street from Ashley Street south has been a gravel road since June 2023. First, the city excavated the road to put in some infrastructure, then covered that with gravel and left it as a gravel road in July 2023. Supposedly, the county is going to dig up the road and lay county infrastructure sometime in 2024. Why didn’t the city and county coordinate the required repairs and have one dig-up and one resurface?
