OU adds four-star WR to 2025 class

OU football's entry into the SEC got off to a fast start Monday.

While Sooners fans celebrated the program's arrival into the conference, four-star wide receiver Cortez Mills chose OU over Clemson, Florida, LSU and Nebraska. At 6-foot-1 junior out of Homestead, Florida, Cortez is an example of the type of recruit head coach Brent Venables will need to land in the SEC.

Cortez ranks as the No. 11 receiver nationally and the No. 12 player in Florida, per 247Sports' Composite ranking. Cortez also ranks as a top 100 player nationally.

Last season at Homestead, Cortez caught 79 passes for 1,640 yards and 18 touchdowns. Mills visited the Sooners on June 14 before visiting LSU on June 21.
