    Officer shot, suspect dead following standoff in NW OKC

    UPDATE 12:00 PM

    Officials say the standoff has ended and the suspect has died. It is believed the injured officer is going to be okay.

    UPDATE 11:50 AM

    Officials says multiple people, including children, were removed from the home and officers have entered. It is unknown if anyone has been taken into custody.

    OKLAHOMA CITY ( KFOR ) – Authorities are on the scene of a standoff in northwest Oklahoma City.

    According to police, officers responded to a home near NW 36th St. and Pennsylvania Ave. around 9 a.m. Tuesday morning. The streets surrounding have been closed.

    The situation allegedly started when an officer confronted someone trying to get into a vehicle.

    There are reports that an officer was shot during the incident and taken to a nearby hospital. Officials say that officer underwent surgery.

    Neighbors have told News 4 that they heard gunshots in the area.

    No more information is available at this time as the investigation continues.
