Former All-Star Clearly Unimpressed By NBA’s Latest $87M Signing

To say that a lot of money has been thrown around in the opening week of NBA free agency would be an understatement. One of the biggest beneficiaries of this recent spending spree is former New York Knicks big man Isaiah Hartenstein, who has decided to take his talents to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

By his own admission, turning his back on the Knicks was a tough decision for Hartenstein. At the end of the day, however, OKC's $87 million offer was just too good to turn down for the 7-foot center.

Ex-NBA All-Star David West appears to have taken exception to this massive deal in particular. The two-time NBA All-Star could not help but share his honest thoughts on the Thunder's free agency acquisition, as West took a veiled shot at Hartenstein and his rather mediocre statistical output:

"What a time to be an NBA player!!!!!" West wrote on Instagram.

For what it's worth, West, a two-time NBA champion, pocketed a grand total of $92 million throughout his 15-year NBA career. That's just $5 million more than what Hartenstein will earn over the next three years.

Taking that into perspective, it's no wonder West is feeling a bit salty about all this.
