OKLAHOMA CITY ( KFOR ) — A metro couple is recovering after being shot in the face following a road rage incident that happened on Eastern near I-240 on July 12.

We now know the victims shot were a metro couple, Jacee and Jacob Wilson.

Jacee spoke with News 4 about what happened and how her family is recovering.

Their day started out normal, the couple were taking their one-year-old son to visit his grandmother.

As they were driving down Eastern towards I-240, a dark-colored vehicle began harassing and breaking checking them.

“He was going crazy speeds, swerving in and out of traffic,” says Jacee.

In an attempt to diffuse the situation, they pulled up to a stop sign on Eastern. From there, things turned violent.

“He got to the side of us, rolled down his window, and that’s where everything happened,” said Jacee.

Jacee and Jacob were shot in the face by a bullet.

The bullet hit Jacob first, then police believe the same bullet hit her. Their one-year-old son in the backseat was not injured.

She says the bullet went through her husbands mouth and jaw.

It then went into her forehead. Once it hit her forehead, it came out and launched into her cheek.

The couple was rushed to OU Health, and the suspect kept driving.

News 4 reached out to Oklahoma City Police for new information. They say the shooter is still out there.

Despite her frustration, Jacee says she’s moving forward and is grateful to be alive.

“I’m just blessed. I can’t be more thankful that we’re here and we’re thankful that my son didn’t get hurt. We’re making the best of a bad situation,” she says.

Her husband, Jacob, is home recovering from surgery he had on Tuesday.

Jacee says he has a long road of recovery ahead, and possibly more surgeries in the future.

For anyone that would like to donate, the couple have a GoFundMe page . Jacee says they are grateful to those who have donated already.

They also have a Meal Train set up for people to donate meals as well.

In regard to the suspect, police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers.
