Universal Pictures has released two new featurette videos for Twisters.
One of the new Twisters videos sees the cast explain how the production team had to deal with real-life weather events while filming the upcoming disaster sequel.
“When we were filming in Oklahoma, in summer, we kept having to shut down for actual weather,” Daisy Edgar-Jones, who plays a character named Kate Carter, says in the video.
Anthony Ramos also says, “My first night, coming here, we go to eat after and the windows are rattling at the spot.”
Brandon Perea further details how some of the background actors in Twisters are actual storm chasers, while Glen Powell discusses how Oklahoma is “such a character” in the movie.

Another Twisters featurette video introduces the tornado wranglers, a group of characters, led by Powell’s Tyler Owens, who are trying to get as close as they can to the natural weather events.
“Edgar-Jones stars as Kate Carter, a former storm chaser haunted by a devastating encounter with a tornado during her college years who now studies storm patterns on screens safely in New York City,” the synopsis for the movie reads. “She is lured back to the open plains by her friend, Javi (Ramos) to test a groundbreaking new tracking system. There, she crosses paths with Tyler Owens (Powell), the charming and reckless social-media superstar who thrives on posting his storm-chasing adventures with his raucous crew, the more dangerous the better. As storm season intensifies, terrifying phenomena never seen before are unleashed, and Kate, Tyler, Javi and their crews find themselves squarely in the paths of multiple storm systems converging over central Oklahoma in the fight of their lives.”
Directed by Lee Isaac Chung, Twisters releasees in United States theaters on July 19, 2024, from Universal Pictures.
