Middlesex County prosecutors say a man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a domestic disturbance at a home in Old Bridge. At 6:30 a.m., prosecutors say authorities responded to reports of a disturbance at a home on Pensacola Street. They say 49-year-old Giovanni Chiarappa, of Old Bridge, was wielding a knife outside the house. As authorities attempted to deescalate the situation, prosecutors say Chiarappa ran back into the home. He surrendered after hours of negotiations, walked out of the home and the incident ended peacefully, according to prosecutors. Chiarappa was arrested and charged with third-degree terroristic threats, third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, DP simple assault and harassment. Anyone with information is asked to call Public Information Officer Rich Mustacchio of the Old Bridge Police Department at 732-721-5600 or Captain Craig Marchak of the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office at 732-745-3934.
