The Anderson County Fairest of the Fair and Tiny Miss pageants were held July 15-16 at the Anderson County Fair in Clinton. The Fairest of the Fair is Autumn Brooke Hill, 20, a pre-vet student at the University of Tennessee. She is the daughter of James and Kim Hill of Clinton. Two decades ago, green tree frogs weren’t known to exist in Knox County. These bright green amphibians, typically 1.25” to 2.5” inches long, live throughout the central and southeastern U.S., but they had never been found in East Tennessee. Then, in 2011, green tree frogs were identified in Cades Cove, and they can now be found in several spots in west Knoxville—including the wetland in the center of Farragut’s Mayor Bob Leonard Park.
