Early-morning chase on Tuesday from Emporia to Ottawa area leads to arrests
EMPORIA, Kan. (WIBW) - A multi-county, early-morning chase that started in Emporia and ended near Ottawa resulted in at least two arrests, authorities said. The incident began around 4:04 a.m. Tuesday when Lyon County sheriff’s deputies, located a possible stolen black sport utility vehicle at W. 6th Avenue and Prairie Street in Emporia.

Charges filed in Emporia aggravated burglary case
Formal charges have been filed in an Emporia burglary case. Michael Hourel, age 19 of Emporia, was charged Monday with single counts of aggravated residential burglary, aggravated assault, battery and criminal damage. The burglary count has an alternate of criminal trespass. Emporia Police officers say the charges stem from an alleged incident Sunday, but other details have not been released.
