Detectives with the Olympia Police Department are investigating a homicide that happened early Saturday morning on the city’s west side. A suspect has yet to be caught.

Police Lt. Paul Lower said the 34-year-old woman who was shot Saturday has been identified by the Thurston County Coroner as Savannah M. Feiler, an unhoused person from the Olympia area. Lower said Feiler was on a walk with a friend near a homeless encampment in the Percival Creek area when two other people confronted them.

Lower said an argument ensued and a man produced a firearm and shot the woman. Officers responded to the scene around 4:50 a.m. and found the woman in the 1400 block of Evergreen Park Drive Southwest.

Lower said police have not arrested a suspect yet, but detectives have several leads. Anyone with information is asked to call Olympia detectives at 360-753-8300.
