Olympia police are looking for a bank robbery suspect.

About 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, the man, wearing a mask, entered the Umpqua Bank branch in the area of the 2800 block of Harrison Avenue Northwest, Olympia police Lt. Paul Lower said.

In addition to the mask, the man had a sock over one hand which appeared to show the outline of a gun underneath it, Lower said. He pointed the sock-covered hand at the teller and demanded money.

    The teller complied, Lower said.

Police were dispatched after 911 received a silent robbery alarm. When police arrived, employees were standing outside the bank. The suspect fled and police searched the area, Lower said.

The suspect, according to police, is six feet tall and has a slim build. He was last seen with the mask, sock-covered hand and a gray camouflage sweatshirt that was pulled tight around his head.

Anyone with information is asked to call Olympia police at 360-753-8300.
