Sutton Community Home raises $1 million for renovations
SUTTON, Neb. (KSNB) - The Sutton Community Home held a groundbreaking ceremony for their addition and renovations project on Friday. The nursing home has been operating and assisting residents of the area for 60 years and has not changed since opening back in 1964. Their goal is to raise $6 million for renovations and additions to the home.

AMES, Iowa — Sondra Wilson claims that the state denied her Medicaid coverage for her gender reassignment surgery. Wilson doesn’t have a law degree, but is representing herself in this case. She said she reached out to about 50 different law firms across the state and couldn’t afford any of the quotes she was given.
Kearney Little League Defeats Hastings Little League, Advances to Championship on Sunday
KEARNEY, Neb. — It came down to the wire, between two historic little league programs. But in 2024, it's Kearney Little League that lives to see another day. Kearney defeated Hastings, 7-5, scoring four of its runs in the bottom of the third inning. Hendrex Cochran earned the save for Kearney, having to step onto the mound, in the top of the fifth.
McCook Aquatic Park is now open
The McCook Aquatic Park held their grand opening Wednesday. The park is a great addition to the community that has gone without an outdoor pool for the last two summers. The aquatic center was a decade-long effort with the pool committee beginning the process in 2015. Many kids have been long awaiting the grand opening, including fifth graders, Anthony Clapp and Grady Pohl.

Cold Air Funnel Spotted Over Norfolk Saturday Afternoon
As heavy rains poured down over Norfolk late this afternoon, a cold air funnel cloud was spotted by the public over Norfolk just after 5pm. Regional Emergency Manager Bobbi Risor says the National Weather Service was aware of the cloud. While any funnel cloud is a concern, the weather service did not deem it a threat to public safety, and no warnings were issued.
