Luke Williams is part of a lush collection of defensive backs in Purdue’s 2024 recruiting class.

The Naperville (Ill.) North High product will arrive in West Lafayette as a four-star prospect, pegged to play the deep safety spot in the Boilermakers’ defense.

The 6-1, 174-pound Williams tallied 32 tackles, five interceptions, two passes defended and two tackles for loss in nine games as a senior in 2023. He also hauled in 47 receptions for 556 yards and five touchdowns, earning some scholarship offers as a wideout.

Williams, who doubled as a standout on the basketball court, was all-county, all-conference and all-state as a senior along with being named the 2023 Naperville Sun Player of the Year.

Williams tabbed Purdue over offers from the likes of Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Kansas, among others. His relationships with Ryan Walters and safeties coach Grant O’Brien dating to their time at Illinois played a big role in the Boiler staff landing Williams.
