The Southern California juggernaut of Mater Dei yields a litany of Power 4-bound prospects every cycle, and Michigan’s coaching staff has put their name in the hat for several, including 2026 EDGE Shaun Scott .

The four-star sophomore publicly reported the Michigan offer earlier this week and was proud to see last season’s College Football Playoff winners show interest.

“It felt great,” Scott told The Wolverine . “It felt great just having them offer and seeing them believe in me, a school that just won a national championship.”

The message that Michigan wanted Scott to hear had his attention.

“They want me down there,” Scott said. “They want me to get down there for a visit.”

Watching the Wolverines go undefeated and capture their third-straight Big Ten title also impressed Scott.

“I feel like they had a great run,” Scott said. “They were very dominant last year. They had a very dominant team. Big things last year. They beat Alabama and Ohio State. They beat their rivals, and they won the natty, so they had a great year last year. It’s big.”

Of course, Scott is significantly interested in how well Michigan has produced multiple EDGE stars for the NFL.

“I feel like they have a very developed system with the pass rushers,” Scott said. “I just like how they use their edge rushers. They also use them in space. They let them work out the edge, really. So, that’s big.”

Scott already knows when he’d like to step foot in Ann Arbor for the first time.

“I’m hoping I get up there in June when I visit some other schools,” Scott said. “I definitely want to see The Big House, for sure, because I’ve heard it’s crazy in there. I know there are not going to be any fans, but I definitely want to check out facilities, the stadium, things like that. Get comfortable with the coaches, build relationships, things like that.

“I just want them basically to just keep real me through this process. Just nothing too crazy. I’m all about building relationships, so that’s big for me.”

Along with Michigan, Scott holds notable offers from USC, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Colorado, Washington, Texas A&M, Penn State, Texas, Oregon, Tennessee, Florida, Miami, and others.

At 6-foot-3, 210 pounds, Scott is listed as the No. 178 overall prospect and No. 15 EDGE in the country, according to the On3 Industry Ranking , a weighted average that utilizes all four primary recruiting media services. He’s also the No. 20 recruit in California.
