Miami Hurricanes 4-star CB commit gearing up for massive senior season: “Jaboree is probably our hardest worker on our team”

New Iberia (La.) Westgate has had plenty of top talent roll through in recent years. And 2025 cornerback and four-star Miami commit Jaboree Antoine has given his coaching staff reason to believe he’s one of the school’s best.

Westgate head football coach Ryan Antoine, who is also Jaboree’s older cousin, believes Jaboree is “definitely one of the top” players Westgate has seen in recent years along with stars like Kayshon Boutte and Derek Williams , the former of whom was drafted by the New England Patriots in 2023 and the latter of whom starred for Texas last fall. Jaboree will play both quarterback and cornerback for Westgate this fall, although he’ll line up at corner at Miami.

“Jaboree is probably our hardest worker on our team,” Ryan said. “Even when he doesn’t have to do a lot of work, he does extra. He’s also our starting quarterback, so he double duties a lot of different things. Since his sophomore year, he’s been doing it and he’s been thriving at it.”

Jaboree’s versatility means Westgate’s staff constantly works to limit his total reps and find ways to keep him rested, although the No. 87 overall prospect and No. 9 cornerback in the 2025 cycle has never backed away from challenges in big games. Ryan complimented Jaboree’s football IQ on both sides of the ball: offensively understanding he doesn’t have to win a game by himself, and defensively knowing how to become a more vocal leader.

“I’d say right now, Jaboree leads a lot by action, which is still good,” Ryan said. “But I think just being a little more vocal and letting kids know he’s the guy and they need to follow him, and just being able to distribute the ball and not have to put all of the workload on himself, it’ll make him a better player. He’ll learn that servant mentality of, ‘Let me put myself last and let those other guys do a lot of things. It’ll keep me healthier, but it’ll also make us a better team.'”

So what kind of player is Miami getting in Jaboree?

According to Ryan, a coach’s dream.

“They’re getting a great kid, and first, they’re getting a hard worker,” Ryan said. “They’re getting a kid that’s going to do everything to be great. He’s going to be coachable, he’s punctual, he’s responsible, and he knows the game. He’s definitely going to be a kid who’s going to be competing for a starting spot as soon as he walks on campus.”

Jaboree will early enroll in January.

    CaneSport’s Take

Antoine’s commitment allowed the Hurricanes to scratch off a massive recruiting need as Miami continues to pursue elite talent in the secondary, but the Canes are still after prospects like four-star cornerback Ben Hanks Jr. and will fight to flip Five-Star Plus+ cornerback DJ Pickett until signing day.
