Georgia will hit the practice field on Thursday and I expect that to be in shells leading up to the second, final and very important scrimmage on Saturday. Georgia broke camp on Tuesday and started their afternoon practice routine that will hold for the remainder of the season as classes started on Wednesday.

DawgsHQ has spoken with several sources over the last few days on players that would be considered “stock up” over the first two weeks of fall camp. Below are the players who were mentioned the most among several different sources around the team.

RB Nate Frazier : There is just a lot of buzz around the young running back from California., “We hit it right on him. He is the real deal,” one source told me about the Georgia freshman. He is going to play and and he is going to be a big factor in this offense. Frazier should have spot in every game plan this year as long as he’s healthy.

WR Sacovie White : “This kid comes to work every day with a smile on his face and continues to kick ass,” a source told me recently. The freshman wideout from Cartersville, Georgia has some juice to him and he is really sudden in the short-area. White is going to get touches in the slot and he will factor in on special teams too.

OL Dylan Fairchild : It sounds like the former four-star prospect has firmly planted himself as a starter at guard with a strong camp. NFL scouts love what they see out him already. It would not surprise me to see him on all sorts of All-American and All-SEC lists at the end of the year.

EDGE Damon Wilson : This is music to the ears of UGA fans. Georgia rotates so much at the EDGE position and I expect that to continue, but Wilson has moved himself up the pecking order with a big offseason and it has continued so far during August. He put on 20 pounds of real weight and it has not slowed him down at all. Wilson is going to be a big part of the defensive package against Clemson.

DE Joseph Jonah-Ajonye : Another freshman that has made his mark already and it started early on in workouts for him. ‘Heavy handed’ is the term used most around this the defensive lineman from Texas. He is going to play and should be in the front rotation early on. I expect him to get reps against Clemson. Yes, that early.

S KJ Bolden : No surprise here as Bolden was already getting praise this summer from Kirby Smart . Bolden is playing a very important role in this defense on the back end, and he is still making some freshmen mistakes, as you’d imagine. He is a quick learner and he is super instinctive as a young player. Bolden probably won’t start early on, but he is playing and the minutes he gets early in the season will pay off as the year wears on. The expectation inside that Georgia facility is that Bolden is going to play early and he’ll play a lot in his first year.
