Despite being a former commit and having a new decision made, the relationship between Georgia and Cedartown (Ga.) four-star Clemson safety commit Tae Harris remains active.

Harris has been hearing from Georgia still. The No. 70 overall prospect in the On3 Industry Rankings has been in contact with Georgia co-defensive coordinator Travaris Robinson as recently as Saturday.

“Coach T-Rob reaches out frequently,” Harris told DawgsHQ.

Harris was once a Georgia commit. He committed to Fran Brown and Will Muschamp back on June 19, 2023. He re-opened his recruitment on January 21.

Brown moved on to take the head coaching job at Syracuse. Muschamp has taken an off-the-field role at Georgia. Donte Williams and Robinson have come in to replace that duo and in the process, Harris decided to take a look at his options before committing to Clemson on March 18.

Georgia has continued to knock on the door. Harris admits he’s not fully interested in the way he once was. There is a lot of respect for the home-state program.

Georgia was the first Power Four program to offer Harris. He hasn’t forgotten that.

“There’s not really as much (interest) but I still have love for them,” Harris said. “There are no hard feelings. Things just didn’t fall in the right places and I had to make a move quickly … They were my first P5 offer so I don’t hate them at all like. Things just didn’t fall correctly.”

The message from Robinson is clear to Harris. Georgia has five defensive backs committed in the class of 2025.

“They’re saying they would still love for me to come play for them,” Harris said.

At the moment, Harris has made peace with his current commitment. The four-star is still strongly committed to Clemson.

The Bulldogs will likely continue to communicate with Harris. The four-star safety has a lot of what he wanted in Dabo Swinney’s program.

“The family the love Coach Conn and Swinney keeps me committed to Clemson,” Harris said. “They told me I was who they wanted and it meant a lot to me. I’m a Tiger 100 percent. ‘All In’.”
