The Dr Pepper Fansville ads have become a piece of the college football season that plenty of fans look forward to, as the dramatic story told in them parallels college football itself. Now, Dr Pepper has released two all-new episodes today, “Into the Great Unknown” and “Hype Train.”

Within the release, Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers , sign-stealing, the expanded College Football Playoff, and more storylines from around the sport are referenced.

You can watch the video released by Dr Pepper on Fansville Season 7, here :

In the release from Dr Pepper, the folks in Fansville are first concerned about many of the changes coming to college football. Following that, fans are getting on the hype train early in the season, only for it to start to get derailed by a quarterback injury.

“Dr Pepper is ingrained in college football, woven into the culture and fandom surrounding the sport,” said Andrew Springate , Chief Marketing Officer for Keurig Dr Pepper. “It’s been a tremendous year for our brand as we continue to break barriers and hit new milestones of growth within our category. As we mark Dr Pepper’s 10 th anniversary of becoming the Official Sponsor of the College Football Playoffs, we welcome the new changes energizing the game, as it provides us with even greater opportunities to engage with both new and long-term fans, celebrating new beginnings while embracing the traditions of fandom together.”

The references in Season 7 start early and often, with a picture depicting crop circles in the shape of a Playoff bracket. That leads to a concerned sheriff announcing, “It’s here.”

From there, another member of Fansville complains that “someone is stealing our signs” in reference to the Connor Stalions sign-stealing scandal that occurred at Michigan last season. Even with head coach Jim Harbaugh moving on to the NFL and Connor Stalions now at the high school level , it’s still a story that has people’s attention. That’s partially because a company like Dr Pepper is using it in this kind of ad and partially because the NCAA’s draft of a notice of allegations relating to the case was recently reported on.

That’s about the time when Quinn Ewers makes his appearance in Fansville. With a dramatic turn while the narration declares, “The cast is growing,” Ewers introduced himself as a new character while holding a Dr Pepper. Meanwhile, popping up next to him was a graphic, calling him a guest star playing “the deputy.”

Ewers isn’t the first big-name quarterback to appear in Fansville. Last season, USC Trojans star Caleb Williams also appeared in the ads. It’s something that was made possible thanks to NIL, which allows college athletes to make money by appearing in things like Fansville.

Among the other things that got referenced by Fansville Season 7 are the new EA Sports NCAA Football 25 video game that returned after years away.

The third segment of Fansville Season 7 will feature more of Ewers. That will be called “Call for Backup” and is going to mirror Ewers’ own journey with a backup who might be on the team behind him.
