Suwanee (Ga.) North Gwinnett 2025 defensive lineman Braxton Kyle made a fashion statement in the midst of a period of change in his recruitment.

The Rutgers defensive line commit popped out of the tunnel in Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Saturday night wearing Georgia gloves ahead of his season opener.

Kyle picked up an offer from the in-state program two weeks ago. The Bulldogs coaching staff has been in heavy communication since that offer went out.

Four-star defensive lineman Christian Garrett decommitted from the Bulldogs last week opening another spot on the defensive line in Georgia’s 2025 class.

Georgia defensive line coach Tray Scott has been in contact every day recently with Kyle.

“It’s been good, they’ve been sending me clips of practice and them working hard, they’re just communicating and showing the moves they do so that I can implement it into my game,” Kyle told DawgsHQ. “Every day coach Scott texts me like a little quote for motivation.”

It was a big offer for Kyle. Georgia has been a dream school for some time.

“Me being born and raised in Georgia, is big, they’re really a dream school,” Kyle said. “As a little kid, I remember watching them. It showed me that my hard work paid off.”

Rutgers has kept Kyle committed. Kyle is still locked in with the Scarlett Knights. He’s appreciative of Rutgers’ early belief in him.

“They got me when I wasn’t really known like that,” Kyle said.

Another Georgia target and former Rutgers commit has grown close with Braxton Kyle

Kyle remains committed to the Scarlett Knights. He built a bit of a connection with former Rutgers commit, 4-star edge Chase Linton .

Linton decommited from Rutgers on Saturday evening. Kyle has been talking with Linton regularly as Georgia has been heavily recruiting both prospects as of late.

“Me and Chase talk basically every day,” Kyle said. “I was watching his game the other night and I’m pretty sure he was watching mine too… I was making sure he was playing and he said ‘no’ and I was telling him that he can bounce back.”
