There’s a family reunion unfolding at Ole Miss . On Sunday, ESPN’s Chris Low reported Ole Miss is hiring Chris Kiffin as an analyst.

“The Kiffin brothers are back together,” Low wrote . “Chris is joining older brother Lane as an analyst at [Ole Miss]. Chris was Lane’s [defensive coordinator] at FAU in 2017 and spent the past six years in the NFL. Kiffin continues to accumulate a wealth of experience, both NFL and college, on his staff.”

Chris Kiffin was the linebackers coach for the Houston Texans last season. Before that, he spent three seasons as the Cleveland Browns’ defensive line coach. After the 2021 campaign, Chris left the Browns to join Ole Miss’ coaching staff.

However, he ultimately returned to his position with the Browns and didn’t coach at Ole Miss. Chris began his coaching career in the NFL with the San Francisco 49ers. He was the organization’s pass rush coach.

Although it’s been seven years since the Kiffin brothers were on the same staff, they have an extensive history of coaching together. As Low mentioned, Chris was Lane’s defensive coordinator at FAU for one season.

When Lane took over at USC in 2010, he hired Chris to be a defensive assistant. Football runs in the family. Their father, Monte Kiffin, spent nearly 30 years in the NFL as a coach. Now, the Kiffin brothers will reunite and look to build upon their family legacy.

JD PicKell raves about Ole Miss’ potential

If there was ever a season for them to build on their family name, it’s the 2024 campaign. Ole Miss landed at No. 6 in the preseason AP Top 25. This past week, On3’s JD PicKell raved about the Rebels’ upcoming season.

“It feels like for Ole Miss, Lane Kiffin, man, preparation is meeting opportunity for them,” PicKell said. “Talk about what they have on this roster already from an opportunity perspective, Jaxson Dart is back for a third year. Okay, you got Tre Harris back for another season, one of the best receivers in the SEC a season ago. You got back your DC. You got back your OC. They’re still intact in Oxford.“

“Schedule’s pretty workable. No Bama , no Texas , no Tennessee . Get Georgia at home. Ole Miss man, preparation meets opportunity. I think they’re a playoff team. I think they’ll be in the SEC Championship, and I think they’re going to be a force here in 2024, because of all the reasons I just mentioned, they’re built for a year like this.”
