Bo Bassett revealed his latest recruiting update, trimming down to 20 schools, ahead of the U20 World Championships in Spain.

“Recruiting has been great, but honestly the final preparations for the world championships has been the #1 focus & priority,” Bassett wrote in his newsletter. “This list today, takes it down to the top 20. Starting next week, I will be eliminating one program each week. This is starting to get really hard with so many great programs and coaches.”

It’s going to get really interesting for one of the most sought after wrestling recruits in recent memory.

American , North Carolina and Wisconsin were removed from Bassett’s list this week.

Bassett is set to represent Team USA at the U20 World Championships in Spain in September following a Gold Medal at Pan Ams. Ranked No. 1 at 144 pounds in the high school rankings and No. 3 pound-for-pound, Bassett is seen as a generational prospect.

Bassett was also a 2024 Pennsylvania State Champion as a sophomore.

Here are the remaining schools on Bassett’s list:

    Virginia Tech
    Cornell
    Michigan
    Ohio State
    Lehigh
    Penn State
    Air Force
    Rutgers
    Iowa State
    Stanford
    Pitt-Johnstown
    Princeton
    Iowa
    Pittsburgh
    Nebraska
    NC State
    Oklahoma State
    Arizona State
    Northern Iowa
    Missouri

On a edition of Baschamania this summer, Bassett opened up on what he looked forward to in the recruiting process. One thing’s for sure, he’ll take his time.

“I’m extremely excited. It’s gonna be fun,” Bassett said prior to when coaches could officially call him. “That post that I put out, I just kind of want to make the point that everyone’s in the (running) and I’m not really slotted in anywhere, I don’t prefer any other schools over anyone else and I’m really excited to be open as far as recruiting.

“I’m excited to go see where I best fit and I think that there’s a lot of different factors that I’m looking into but I think it’s just where I can  be the most successful and get the you know, the most out of it. Going to take my visits, I’m not going to commit on day one or probably within the first month to six months. I think that it’s one of those things that I’m going to take my time and really make the right decision, but you only get that decision once. And I’m a pretty loyal guy so I don’t really see myself transferring out ever. So I think wherever I go, that’s where I’m going to be for four maybe (five) years … so really excited for this process.”
