    Defensive line

Player Snaps Run Defense Tackling Pass Rush Coverage Overall
    Ty Robinson 48 67.4 72.2 69.3 72.4
    Jimari Butler 41 54.2 74.8 60.8 61.7 61.9
    Nash Hutmacher 29 66.4 68.7 59.1 63.8
    James Williams 27 61.4 74.1 67.5
    Cameron Lenhardt 20 67.5 74.8 60.6 66.4
    Kai Wallin 12 60.4 24.8 57.7 60.2 59.4
    Elijah Jeudy 7 60.2 56.9 58.5
    Riley Van Poppel 5 60.0 59.1 59.3 54.8
    Keona Davis 2
    Vincent Carroll-Jackson 2

HOL Take: It might not reflect in his PFF grades, but Ty Robinson was a monster against Colorado. Along with his sack, batted pass, and a blocked field goal, Robinson recorded five quarterback pressures (four hurries). James Williams didn’t have a sack but led NU with six total QB pressures (four hurries and two hits). In all, the defensive line accounted for 20 of Nebraska’s 28 pressures in the win. To little surprise, the Huskers rotated on the d-line more than any other level of the defense.

    Linebackers

Player Snap Count Run Defense Tackling Pass Rush Coverage Overall
    John Bullock 62 65.9 80.3 75.1 60.2 66.6
    Mikai Gbayor 36 64.2 52.0 53.0 78.4 69.2
    Princewill Umanmielen 33 55.8 48.3 63.8 42.0 50.5
    MJ Sherman 31 61.9 73.6 67.5 61.3 69.3
    Stefon Thompson 19 63.8 55.0 63.8 61.0
    Vincent Shavers Jr. 2
    Willis McGahee IV 1

HOL Take: John Bullock may not have gotten as much post-game praise as some of his other defensive teammates, but his impact was significant. The senior inside linebacker led all non-defensive backs with 62 snaps, 26 more than any other linebacker. Three of his five tackles were STOPs, and he also batted two passes. Colorado’s pass-heavy scheme allowed Nebraska’s Jack linebackers to play early and often. The trio of Princewill Umanmielen, MJ Sherman, and Willis McGahee combined for two sacks, two QB hits, and four hurries.

    Secondary

Player Snaps Run Defense Tackling Pass Rush Coverage Overall
    DeShon Singleton 64 65.2 82.2 67.5 68.2
    Malcolm Hartzog 64 63.2 57.7 57.2 58.1
    Tommi Hill 64 61.3 63.3 60.0 83.7 83.4
    Marques Buford Jr. 64 62.2 81.9 68.4 68.7
    Isaac Gifford 64 62.3 78.6 57.5 58.5
    Ceyair Wright 7 63.9 64.3

HOL Take: After playing a whopping 15 defensive backs in last week’s win over UTEP, Nebraska paired down its secondary rotation in a big way against Colorado. In fact, the starting five played all 64 defensive snaps in the victory. Ceyair Wright was the only other DB to see the field, playing seven snaps as a dime corner. Tommi Hill was one of NU’s stars of the night. Along with his game-changing pick-six, the cornerback had a team-high six tackles, four of which were STOPs. Even more impressive was his team-best coverage grade while shadowing CU standout receiver Travis Hunter most of the game. The Buffaloes targeted Hill eight times, more than any NU defender. They completed six of those but for a total of just 56 yards.
