Jack White to Play American Legion Post 82 This Saturday, July 27
Just last week, resident local rocker and Third Man head honcho Jack White quietly dropped a surprise new album, currently untitled (stamped as “NO NAME”) and released only as a physical, one-day-only vinyl that was included with all purchases at his Third Man Records storefront. His first new LP since dropping a pair of records in 2022, Fear of the Dawn and Entering Heaven Alive, the album is more akin to the blues and garage rock sound of the former, and has received high praise from the handful of folks lucky enough to hear it. What’s next for the venerated rocker (and whether his latest LP will eventually get a wider release) is not entirely known, but his live activity seems to be ramping up for the first time in more than a year, with a string of small regional shows and a west coast festival date just announced.

Unexpected Name Was Backstage During AEW’s Latest Television Tapings
AEW has developed a reputation for being very friendly regarding talents making backstage visits, and while some who visit are obviously looking for a job, many just want to see friends. And now seemingly falling into the latter category, PWInsider.com has reported that former WCW World Champion and co-star of the Scream horror movie franchise David Arquette was in attendance during AEW’s latest taping in Nashville. Arquette is still a very controversial figure in the world of pro wrestling, with his 12-day reign as WCW World Champion considered by some to be the low point in the promotion’s history. However, it should be noted that he wasn’t in favor of this, with Tony Schiavone actually being the one who suggested the idea to Vince Russo, who believed it would see the company garner some much-needed publicity. And while it did achieve this, it effectively destroyed the belt’s credibility in the eyes of wrestling fans.
