OPELIKA, Ala. ( WRBL ) — The Alabama Department of Transportation wants to know what the public thinks of a proposed bridge rehabilitation project in Opelika.

The project would impact US-29 over I-85. ALDOT is proposing hydro demolition of the bridge deck. The department says it would extend the life of the bridge.

Temporary detours would be required. ALDOT plans to utilize US-431 and US-280 for that signed detour.

ALDOT requests the public submit their comments online by Thursday, July 18.
