Police bust alleged ‘street takeover’ in Volusia County, continue to search for suspects
EDGEWATER, Fla. - Edgewater police officers are searching for dozens of people believed to be involved in an alleged illegal street takeover. Early Sunday morning, an officer reported to Parktowne Industrial Center after he heard tires screeching and other commotion. Once on scene, according to the department, he saw upwards of 50 vehicles on site.
Central Florida Woman Found Deceased in Lake Behind Home
A Central Florida woman was found deceased in a lake behind her home. Deputies and Deltona Fire Rescue personnel were dispatched to a home in Deltona on Fort Smith Blvd. earlier this month, after the victim’s husband reported he saw her floating face down in the water and ran to pull her out.
Three Arrested in Shooting after Purse Theft in Central Florida
Three Central Florida suspects were arrested this month in the city of Deltona following a shooting in DeLand stemming from a theft of a purse. A woman realized her purse was stolen from her car at Taylor Place Apartments in DeLand. Around 1pm, she got a notification that her stolen credit card was used at Checker’s in DeLand, so she drove there with two others to confront the suspects.

59-year-old James Guzman, the man convicted in the 1991 murder of David Colvin in Daytona Beach, has been sentenced to death with unanimous recommendation from a Volusia County jury.
