( NewsNation ) — Sarah Boone, a Florida woman accused of killing her boyfriend by leaving him trapped inside a suitcase, is representing herself in court as she looks to hire her ninth attorney.

This comes after Judge Michael Kraynick ruled Boone had forfeited her right to an attorney after poor behavior that led to eight of her previous attorneys withdrawing, all citing similar complaints, according to Court TV .

In a letter filed earlier this month, Boone requested to review the discovery in her case and included a handwritten ad for an attorney, saying an “epic opportunity awaits” for her next potential attorney.

What we know about the trial of Sarah Boone, accused suitcase killer

Sarah Boone, 46, is charged with second-degree murder for the death of Jorge Torres Jr.

The two were allegedly playing a game of hide-and-seek when Boone zipped Torres inside a suitcase and went to bed. She told investigators she believed Torres could free himself from the suitcase, but when she woke up after passing out on her bed, she found him unresponsive inside the piece of luggage.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office reviewed video evidence of the blue suitcase facing downward while Torres attempted to free himself . Police said that the video included Boone laughing and saying, “That’s what I feel like when you cheat on me,” NewsNation previously reported.

Kraynick has scheduled Boone’s trial for Oct. 7. He says the trial date will not be pushed for any reason “except by extraordinarily good cause, and such extraordinarily good cause shall not include retention of counsel by the defendant.”
