A powerful storm swept through Orange County Wednesday night, leaving behind a trail of downed trees and power outages. The scene is repeated throughout Goshen, Middletown, Warwick, and Washingtonville: Massive, old trees lie in pieces, blocking roads and causing significant damage. On Murray Avenue, a tree narrowly missed a house. Further down the street, a similar scene unfolded with another large tree narrowly missed a residence. One particularly alarming incident occurred on Lark Street in Washingtonville, where a tree crashed into a home while a mother and her 2-year-old daughter slept inside. Fortunately, both escaped unharmed. "
