    Orange County resident runs from cops after restaurant trespassing, police say

    An Orange County residents was arrested for evading police and failure to identify while trespassing at an area restaurant, authorities said.

    According to the Beaumont Police Department, on Saturday at 3:55 a.m., a concerned resident reported two individuals possibly breaking into Cafe Del Rio at 2830 I-10 East in Beaumont.

    Responding officers found a man and a woman in the restaurant’s tented patio area, police said.

    “The male suspect attempted to flee but was apprehended behind a nearby hotel,” a BPD release stated. “No evidence of burglary was found. The male suspect, Tommy Jones, 25, of Vidor, was arrested for evading and failing to identify and taken to Jefferson County Jail.”

    According to authorities, the woman was identified and released.

    The investigation continues, and additional charges may be pending, police noted.
