ORANGE — The Texas Rangers are investigating a recently resigned sheriff’s deputy.

Former deputy Ken Bost recently resigned from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office after about four years. He previously served as Rose City Marshal.

A communications officer with DPS confirmed the Texas Rangers are conducting an investigation into allegations but would not elaborate on the type of allegations or the investigation.

The agency referred any additional questions to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office or Orange County District attorney’s Office on Wednesday.

Several attempts to reach a representative of both the sheriff’s office and DA’s office were unsuccessful.

The Texas Rangers are part of the Texas Department of Public Safety that have led investigative responsibility for major violent crimes, unsolved violent crimes, serial criminals, public corruption, public integrity offenses and officer-involved shootings among other duties, according to DPS.
