ORANGE COVE, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A man has been arrested after police found a stolen firearm in his vehicle in Orange Cove, the city’s police department said.

Officers say they issued a traffic stop on Tuesday around 8 p.m. due to the vehicle having an expired registration.

Police say they also found out the driver, 26-year-old Yair Garza, was unlicensed. During a search of the vehicle, they located a loaded 9mm Glock firearm, which was later determined to have been stolen out of San Francisco.

According to the police department, Garza was taken into custody and booked into the Fresno County Jail on suspicion of possession of stolen property and other charges.
