The idea for the position, which would function as someone to act as a liaison between the Clinton business community and the town, dates back several years, first broached in 2021. At that time, former Town Manager Karl Kilduff said, “The intent of the position would be to better connect with existing businesses to understand their needs [and] growth opportunities and aid in navigating the process to foster expansion of existing businesses in Clinton.”
Man sentenced to life in prison for 2016 Hartford double murder
A man has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of release for killing two people in Hartford in 2016. Brandon Letman, 31, was sentenced on Monday for charges connected to the fatal shootings of 21-year-old Ashley Spence and 19-year-old Cameron Mounds Jr. on June 21, 2016, according to Chief State’s Attorney Patrick J. Griffin.

Cigna launches $9M health equity fund
The Cigna Group will allocate $9 million toward health equity initiatives over three years. The Cigna Group Health Equity Impact Fund will provide $9 million to target health disparities in specific communities. Houston and Hartford, Conn. will be the first communities to receive funding, according to a July 22 news release.
