CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - More chills tonight, as this early preview of Fall weather continues. Lows in the 40s to low 50s, are more common in late September and early October, than late August. The cool, dry air is making for pleasant afternoons with highs temperatures in the 70s. High pressure will continue to control our weather pattern through the rest of this week and into the weekend, but temperatures will start to warm, and the humidity will slowly rise. While nice, dry weather is here, the only drawback is we remain with drought conditions. The U.S. Drought monitor will update Thursday morning, with not much chance expected.

Dominion changes location of planned Chesterfield gas plant
Dominion Energy announced Wednesday that it’s relocating the proposed Chesterfield Energy Reliability Center to the adjacent site of the retired Chesterfield Power Station. The new site, which sits northwest of Dutch Gap Conservation Area, comes with a 2010 conditional use permit that the county says would apply to the proposed gas plant — allowing the project to continue without public hearings and notices that are part of the county’s permitting process.
