First rabies-infected bat of 2024 confirmed in Delta County
DELTA, Colo. (KJCT) - A rabid bat was found outside of a home. A bat from the Hotchkiss area tested positive for rabies on Monday. Delta County Health Department recommends that people are cautious around wild animals. They recommend being extra careful around bats since they are known carriers of diseases and are more active during this time of year.
