$1M grant approved for construction of new Pittsfield Township park
PITTSFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI -- A recently approved $1-million grant will help bring a new park to Pittsfield Township. The grant was approved for the proposed Oak Valley Park through a state budget appropriation as a result of the efforts of state and local elected officials. (CBS DETROIT) - Customs agents seized 90 live snails from luggage at Detroit Metro Airport last month.The giant African land snails were discovered after a traveler arriving from Ghana on June 30 was recommended for a secondary examination for declaring that their luggage contained fresh food items. During this inspection, a tied, woven bag had a strange smell. (CBS DETROIT) - A man suffering from a mental health crisis shot three people, including a woman who may be pregnant, at a Detroit gas station Monday night. The incident happened at a gas station on Gratiot Avenue near Van Dyke Avenue.
