The Big Ten officially welcomed former Pac-12 powers Oregon , USC , UCLA and Washington to the conference on Friday.
Friday marks the official start date of the expanded 18-team conference after an offseason of significant realignment all around college football. The Big Ten now spans coast to coast and will look vastly different than at any time over the last few decades.

During Big Ten media days, Big Ten commissioner Tony Petitti was asked plenty about his plans for the iconic map commercial that became a symbol of the conference. He never gave a definitive answer, but it sure seemed like something was in the works for a possible updated commercial.
The answer to that question was confirmed on Friday. The Big Ten revealed the new edition of the map commercial, highlighted by the same theme music and graphics:
The new version begins in the Pacific Northwest region with Washington and Oregon instead of starting at the Rose Bowl. It then pans down the coast to highlight the two Los Angeles schools and turns to the Midwest and the rest of the conference.
Big Ten fans were ecstatic with the news, and rightfully so, considering the commercial’s success.
