#2 Madison Sweeps Doubleheader and Takes Series Against #1 Mankato
Thursday’s Northwoods League slate featured a doubleheader between the #1 Mankato Habaneros and the #2 Madison Night Mares. The Madison Night Mares lit up the scoreboard early scoring six runs in the second to help run up the score on the Mankato Habaneros 12-6. Mia Johnson (University of Wisconsin-Parkside) went 2-for-4 scoring once with a double and two RBI. Hilary Blomberg (University of Wisconsin-Madison) went 2-for-5 scoring once with a double, one stolen base, and one RBI. Addie Blomberg (South Dakota State University) went 2-for-3 scoring once with one RBI and two stolen bases. Haley Remington (University of Wisconsin-Parkside) went 3-for-5 scoring twice with two RBI and one stolen base. Brooke Holmes (St. Cloud State University) went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI. Jessa Snippes (University of Minnesota) went 1-for-4 with a solo home run. Andrea Jaskowiak (University of Iowa) earned the win throwing five innings with three strikeouts allowing seven hits, four runs, and four walks.
