Jameer Nelson Sr. is one of the best players in the history of the Orlando Magic, making the All-Star Team in 2009 and helping lead the team to the 2009 NBA Finals, a loss against Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers.

Nelson's son Jameer Nelson Jr. has become quite the hoops prodigy in recent years, last playing for the Big 12's TCU Horned Frogs.

On Monday, July 1, Nelson Jr. cashed in a successful college career for a contract with the San Antonio Spurs.

Nelson stands 6-foot-1 and weighs 190 pounds with a body type reminiscent of his famous father.

He started his college career with the George Washington Colonials, with whom he played for two seasons before moving on to the Delaware Fightin' Blue Hens for two years and finishing up with a season at TCU.

Nelson Jr. averaged a career-high 20.6 points in his last season with Delaware before averaging 11.2 points per game with the Horned Frogs last season.

He will join a Spurs Summer League roster that is seeking to develop young players to play alongside budding megastar Victor Wembanyama.

Last season, the Spurs finished 14th out of 15 teams in the Western Conference, suggesting there may be hope for Nelson Jr. to find a place and contribute as a rookie if he has a strong Summer League showing.
