Former number one overall pick Markelle Fultz's NBA future is in doubt after a new report surfaced about his current status with the Orlando Magic.

According to Hoops Wire writer and NBA insider Sam Amico , it is unlikely that the Magic will bring back Markelle Fultz for the upcoming season, leaving his NBA career uncertain.

"Free agent guard Markelle Fultz remains unsigned, and it seems doubtful that Orlando will bring him back, especially after the team acquired former Nuggets guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope," Amico reported.

Markelle Fultz, who was once a college star for the Washington Huskies, entered the NBA as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 NBA draft with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Despite initial challenges during his time with Philadelphia, including injuries and a developmental setback in his shooting form due to Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (a condition affecting the nerves in the body), Fultz showed improvement after joining the Orlando Magic in 2019.

Over his five-season stint with the Magic, he averaged narrowly over 11 points, 4.8 assists, and 3.4 rebounds per game.

Now facing free agency, Fultz will look to rejuvenate his NBA career with a new team, pending interest.

Meanwhile, the Magic are focused on building upon a successful season last year, where they finished with a 47-35 record, placing fifth in the Eastern Conference.

The unclear path ahead for Fultz highlights a crucial moment in his career and has fans eagerly anticipating his next move in the NBA.
