Governor, state officials traveling to Japan, Korea next week on economic development mission
Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear will travel next week to Japan and Korea on what his office describes as “an economic development trip to bring new jobs to the state.”. Also on the trip will be First Lady Britainy Beshear, Cabinet for Economic Development Secretary Jeff Noel, Transportation Cabinet Secretary Jim Gray and other members of the executive branch. They will be meeting with “companies and trade organizations to determine future investment and job-creation opportunities in the state,” according to a news release from the governor’s office.
London Man Arrested After Apparent Road Rage Shooting
Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting the arrest of a man after a road rage shooting incident. The shooting reportedly happened Saturday off East Laurel Road, six miles east of London. Deputies say 21-year-old Jayden Jackson of London was shot twice in the torso. He was transported to St. Joseph Hospital in London and later airlifted to UK Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery. Police arrested 21-year-old Joseph Brewer of London and charged him with first-degree assault. Brewer was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center. London Police Department assisted on the investigation.
