Three people have injuries from a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Hwy. 97 just south of the Big Y near Peshastin early Sunday afternoon. A jury found 50-year-old Isaac David Heckman guilty on two out of three counts of second-degree assault. WSD coordinates with city to address safe routes to school after Columbia closure
WENATCHEE — The Wenatchee School District is working with the city of Wenatchee and law enforcement to address safe routes to Washington and Lincoln Elementary Schools. On June 25, WSD Superintendent Kory Kalahar presented some safe route improvement goals for the two schools as they absorb the Columbia Elementary School population. Throughout the school closure process, parents went to the Wenatchee School Board with concerns over the influx of students at each school and the proposed routes students would take to get to get there.
