Community Wellness Expo returns to Orono

The third annual Community Wellness Expo is returning to the Orono Activities Center on Thursday, May 2 from 5-7 p.m.

The Expo is organized by Orono Community Education in partnership with Orono Healthy Youth and with support for district parent organizations. The event is free and open to all students, families, and community members to learn about community and wellness resources, explore local volunteer opportunities, and help with hands-on service projects with more than 50 organizations in attendance.

Attendees can visit with Northstar Therapy llamas, purchase a handmade pottery bowl, enjoy free ice cream, try family yoga, play pickleball, and watch a roller skate performance.

You can also participate in “giving back” initiatives by helping pack 1,000 sandwiches, walking the track in support of someone with a mental illness, preparing snack bags for community partners, and painting pots for local residents. Come hungry as there will be two on-site food trucks.
