Several of the North Shore level 7 and 9 boys headed to Arizona to represent Region 4 at the Westerns National Championships. And boy did they represent!

The three level 9 boys all competed within different age groups, but each of them did great. Marek Dykoski (Minnetrista, 15) flipped his vault and landed himself in 7th place for his highest vault score this year of 11.550. Tobin Dykoski (Minnetrista, 13), also earned himself a medal for his 9th place vault with a whopping 11.650! Owen Johnson (Delano, 13) found himself with 2 medals, one for his tie for 5th place on floor (12.550) and another for his 4th place tie on parallel bars (12.350). These were exceptional performances from these boys who have worked hard all year and showed up at Westerns!

The level 7 boys hit the floor the following day. Zachary Potter (Dealno, 12) had been out for several weeks before qualifying for Westerns and he was still able to show up and earn a medal for his 8th place tie on floor with an 11.550. That’s determination! Alexander Bartz (Minnetrista, 12) had an absolutely amazing showing in AZ. His age group was 31 boys and he landed in the top 10 on 5 of his 6 events and his all-around. Bartz placed 9th on high bar, 8th on pommel horse, tied for 8th on floor, 7th place on his all-around and a 6th place tie on parallel bars. But nothing compared to his stunning rings routine that earned an 11.200 and landed him as the Rings Champion!

Way to go North Shore boys! This meet ends the season for the Level 7 and 9 boys. The only meet left for the boys at the gym is one of their Level 10 gymnasts will be heading to Florida for the Nationals Meet. What an amazing season the entire North Shore boys team has had this season.
