Summit County Fair opens this week; kids under 15 get in free 1 day
TALLMADGE, Ohio – The Summit County Fair is scheduled for July 23-28 at the fairgrounds in Tallmadge, located at 229 E. Howe Road. A family tradition since 1850, the fair offers 4-H and open-class exhibits in livestock, horticulture, floraculture, domestic arts, culinary arts and fine arts. More than 250 food and commercial vendors will be spread out across the 66-acre fairgrounds, according to event organizers.

After months, Akron Public Schools is still trying to decide how it will transport its most vulnerable students. Medina County Project LEARN seeks funds to help them with new center
MEDINA, Ohio – In an effort to better serve their clients, Medina County Project LEARN has found a new space to serve as their adult education center in Medina. “We have a new space on the second floor of the Huntington building on the square,” said Project LEARN’s executive director, Jennifer Brenner. “We are in the process of doing some renovations. It’s an old building so right now we are undergoing some improvements like new paint on the walls and new carpet. We hope to have it complete by the end of September.”

Numbers Band Makes Their Annual Appearance at Akron Art Museum’s Downtown @ Dusk
Thu 7/25 @ 6:30-8PM Kent’s Numbers Band, which debuted in the summer of 1970, has plugged on without a break ever since, is one of northeast Ohio’s musical treasures. Fronted by intense, charismatic singer/songwriter/guitarist Robert Kidney, the band has forged its own distinctive sound out of rock and roll, blues and jazz. While clearly there’ve been many personnel changes in a band with such a long history, Bob’s multi-instrumentalist brother jack Kidney and sax/keyboards player Terry Hynde have been along for a significant chunk of the ride. The current band also features two more local music scene veterans: bassist Bill Watson and drummer Clint Alguire.

Cuyahoga Falls City Council holds regular meetings on the second and fourth Mondays of each month. Council committee meetings are held on the first and third Mondays in order to allow councilmembers to publicly discuss pending legislation that will be voted on at regular meetings.
