Emporia man arrested in Osage County on suspected drug distribution
An Emporia man faces possible drug distribution charges in Osage County after an alleged domestic disturbance in Melvern. Osage County Sheriff Chris Wells says deputies were called to the area of Northwest Maple and Northwest Roberts around 10:45 am Friday. While on scene, they say they found 33-year-old 33-year-old Dustin R Davis in the 200 block of Northwest Main with illegal narcotics in his possession.
Emporia man arrested on drug charges following domestic disturbance in Melvern
MELVERN — An Emporia man was arrested on multiple drug-related charges last week after Osage County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance in Melvern. Accoring to Osage County Sheriff Chris Wells, the call came in at 10:45 a.m. July 5, reporting a domestic disturbance in the vicinity of northwest Maple and northwest Roberts Streets. Deputies arrived on the scene and conducted an investigation, which led them to follow up at a nearby location.

June rains bring July floods across Osage County
OSAGE COUNTY, Kan. – Almost all of Osage County is in a flood warning today, July 1, 2024, after heavy overnight and early morning rainfall. The National Weather Service at Topeka issued warnings this morning about flooding along the Marais Des Cygnes River above Reading, which affects Osage and Lyon counties, and Salt Creek near Lyndon, while flooded roads have been reported in Carbondale and other areas.
Calmer conditions for the weekend
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - After yesterday’s storms, NE Kansas can look forward to a calmer, drier, and cooler weekend. NE Kansas saw a few severe storms traverse the region last night, bringing strong winds and a confirmed tornado in Lyon/Osage counties. So far there have been reports of tree and structural damage from the tornado near Melvern in Osage County, but more reports are likely to be made throughout Saturday. Damage surveys will be conducted by the National Weather Service this weekend, with strength ratings and path confirmations to be released.
