(Park Rapids, MN) — The Heartland Lakes Community School in Park Rapids will be welcoming students for the first time this fall. The Star Tribune reports that the public charter school received approval from the Park Rapids City Council for a conditional use permit earlier this week. The Minnesota Department of Education also approved of the plans, and estimates that the school will enroll around 85 students this first year. The K-12 school will be located at the Riverside United Methodist Church, and will officially be in session on September 3rd.
