Six people rescued from river in West Tennessee, fire department says
COVINGTON, Tenn. - Six people were rescued from a river in West Tennessee early Monday morning, according to the Tipton County Fire Department (TCFD). Officials said 911 received a call around 4 a.m. on July 1 from a caller saying that they were lost on the Hatchie River in Covington. The Tipton County Fire Department, along with the Covington Fire Department, Millington Fire Swift water-team, TWRA and the Tipton County Sheriff's Department raced out to the river to look for the lost boater.
